Lawrencerock.com is an independent resource for music and culture in Lawrence. It is run by ardent music fans who live in Lawrence and love its atmosphere. We want to promote not only local music and musicians who come through, but also other cultural events around Lawrence (theater, art, film, poetry readings, etc). Our goal is to be an alternative source of information on everything mentioned above that's going on in our city and surrounding area. We'd also like to help give wider exposure to local bands by providing their fans who use our site with up-to-date information. We want to provide a solid database of show and cd reviews, lists of upcoming events, and information about musicians, artists, and venues.

We have just launched this site, and are putting out an open call to anyone who wants to help in any way: pictures, information about bands and events, interviews, show reviews, cd reviews, web page building, and articles written on Lawrence-related topics -if it has to do with Lawrence's cultural side or any other cultural matter, we want your input. We are also willing to go beyond the scope of Lawrence. Our goal is to offer the people of Lawrence a place to speak their mind on any topic.
